This is the first time I feature a toy on my blog and it couldn’t be a better start.
We were invited to attend a fantastic event where CeCe Sammy launched VTech’s new Kidi Super Star, can only say that Suri had a blast.
Suri loves to sing and dance and since a while ago she has been asking for a microphone, we searched everywhere and only found some that needed to be connected to a TV or computer and others that were just the microphone but very little could be done with it.
When I heard about Kidi Super Star I was very curious to find out if this would be the solution to our dilemma so I promptly accepted the invitation.
Best decision ever, during the event we found out that Kidi Super Star was all we’ve been looking for and much more.
Here’s some more information about the toy:
VTech’s new Kidi Super Star karaoke microphone and stand uses innovative technology to reduce the vocals on any song. Whether you’re plugging in a mobile phone to access YouTube or Spotify or an MP3 with your own music library, the Kidi Super Star will reduce vocals to allow children be the star of the show.
With a glowing light which changes colour for a magical atmosphere and unique microphone effects, children can record up to four minutes of a song allowing them to create individual versions of their favourite tracks. If that wasn’t enough, there are also six fun games to play.
To those who don’t know her, CeCe is best known for her work on Pop Idol and The Voice among others, she has a long list of celebrity clients who have turned to her for her expert coaching including Leona Lewis, Charlotte Church, and Rochelle Humes from The Saturdays. Now she is willing to share her sought after advice to help youngsters benefit and enjoy singing even more.
CeCe said; “Singing is a massive part of growing up – starting off with nursery rhymes before moving onto pop songs and current music, it’s enjoyed the world over. Music and singing helps our emotional development and builds our imagination, curiosity and creative thinking. As well as gaining confidence and self-esteem – all of which for young children are hugely important. The Kidi Super Star is a great new way for young ones to get involved in singing and imitate their music idols. Gone are the days of having to sing into your hair brush when you can own your very own personal microphone.”
CeCe Sammy has shared her top five tips for children looking to perfect their singing style:
1. Practice every day. See yourself if as a vocal athlete.
2. Look at a music video; listen to the singer and join along with them. Then when you learn the words, try to sing it on your own to a backing track.
3. Record yourself and listen back. Get some paper and underline the words/areas you need to practice more closely.
4. Try different genres to find out what songs really suit your voice.
5. Dare to dream! Believe in yourself and reach for the stars – anything is possible if you set your mind to it and work hard and never give up!
No need to say that there has been a lot of singing going on here at home, even Daddy joins the fun. Oh and fear not, the toy it’s not awfully loud, kids will have fun and parents won’t go crazy with the noise ;).
